Does Great Expectations purchase dresses?
We do NOT buy dresses from any consignor. We help your sell your dress by advertising in our showroom and on social media. You will get paid once your dress sells after the month closes.
Do I need an appointment to shop or consign?
No, you do not need an appointment to shop or consign in our boutique. We are open Tuesday – Friday from 1:00pm to 6:00pm and on Saturday from 10:00am to 4:00pm. We are closed Sunday and Monday. Our boutique is located at 1320 Red Wolf Blvd, Suite H in the Stadium Crossing shopping center.
How do you decide the price of each gown?
We decide the price of the dress on the designer, condition, original price and year it was purchased. All wedding dresses must be professionally cleaned if worn. Formal gowns must be clean and in pristine condition as well.
What percentage will I get when my dress or accessory sells?
Once the item has sold, we will write you a check for 50% of the sell price.
How do I know my dress will be taken care of when it is consigned?
Each dress that is consigned in my store will be treated like my own. Each dress is stored in a clear gusset bag unless it is being carefully tried on. We appreciate you trusting us with your dress!
Do you have a return policy?
All sales are final. No exchanges or returns.
What types of dresses are you accepting at this time?
Bridal: We are looking for bridal gowns that are new or in pristine condition. We do not take dresses that are older than five years old. All dresses must be dry cleaned unless they have never been worn. We will not take any gown that has rips, stain or beads missing. We accept bridal gown and bridal accessories all year round.
Formal: We are ONLY accepting gowns that are no older than three years old. All dresses that we are taking must be designer/ name brand dresses. All dresses must be clean and have no rips, stains or beads missing. We accept formal dresses from Sept 1 of current year to March 31 of following year.
ALL dresses must come from a non-smoking home.
